Walmart+ Badge Eligibility Changed for Seller-Fulfilled Offers With Return Exemptions

Walmart Marketplace's November 5, 2026 release notes say seller-fulfilled offers with return policy exemptions no longer qualify for the Walmart+ badge. Walmart dates the change to October 19 and says it applies to existing as well as newly enrolled offers. A brand with affected SKUs should review badge status and return economics together before changing any policy setting.

The rule has a narrow scope

The release note addresses seller-fulfilled offers with return policy exemptions. It does not say that all seller-fulfilled offers lose the badge. Walmart says removing exemptions can maintain or restore eligibility only if the offer also meets the program's other requirements. It does not promise that removing an exemption will immediately display a badge on every listing.

Audit the affected assortment

First, identify seller-fulfilled offers carrying an exemption and compare them with current Walmart+ badge status. Then group affected SKUs by why the exemption exists: product fragility, size, hygiene, shipping cost or another operational reason. The exception may be deliberate, so a blanket removal could create a costly return workflow.

For each group, estimate the return handling cost and customer impact of eliminating the exemption. Verify the current program requirements in Seller Center and have the returns owner approve any change. After the change, check both offer eligibility and the customer-facing listing. These steps are Etail Rocket analysis; Walmart's release note establishes the eligibility rule, not a conversion or sales outcome.

A practical decision sequence

  1. Export or identify seller-fulfilled SKUs with return policy exemptions.
  2. Check which of those offers are or were Walmart+ badge eligible.
  3. Calculate the cost and operational effect of accepting returns under the standard policy.
  4. Remove exemptions only where the economics and customer experience support it, then confirm all other badge criteria.
  5. Monitor listing status and returns after the change.
